Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the Storage Administration team in the following: - Installs, utilizes and maintains storage products in Headquarters data center and remote locations. - Responsible for the installation, configuration, tuning and performance management of data storage equipment utilized in the NEXCOM IT infrastructure (SAN switches, disk arrays, storage virtualization, physical and virtual tape libraries, and all associated fiber cabling). - Develops backup strategies for both local and wide area data archive and recovery. Implements and monitors NEXCOM tape backup and off-site storage programs. - Monitors storage area network performance, including host servers and storage subsystems, through the use of real-time monitoring tools (internally developed or purchased commercially), and by analyzing historical reports and system logs. - Manages physical database allocation across SAN. - Installs, maintains, and configures Enterprise Storage Subsystems (ESS) for optimum performance. - Installs, configures, and maintains SAN hardware and cabling. - Implements tape backup software and systems. - Proactively performs utilization and performance analysis of enterprise storage subsystems, and backup environments and plans for future growth and resource needs. - Develop reports and use statistical analysis techniques and tools to troubleshoot and identify methods for resolving problems. - Develop and maintain system support documentation. - Interfaces with hardware vendors to maintain and schedule repair of equipment in a timely manner. - Excellent communication, coordination and organization skills required.
